MOISTURIZING SANDWICHING

ARE YOU STILL SUFFERING FROM DRY, WINTER SKIN?

If you want to achieve glowing and hydrated skin, you might want to try the latest Korean beauty trend: moisture sandwiching. This technique involves applying your skin care products on damp skin right after cleansing, without drying it with a towel. The idea is to lock in the moisture and enhance the absorption of the ingredients. You should follow the Korean three-second rule, which means applying the next product within three seconds of washing your face. Glamour Magazine explains that this way, your skin will be more receptive and you will get the most out of your skin care routine. Moisture sandwiching is especially beneficial for dry and dehydrated skin types, as it helps to prevent transepidermal water loss and keep the skin plump and smooth.

If you are looking for a way to boost your skin's hydration, you might want to try skin flooding. This is a new trend that has been popularized by TikTok users, who claim that it can give you a plump and glowing complexion. Skin flooding involves applying multiple layers of moisturizing products to your skin while it is still wet, to lock in the moisture and prevent water loss. This technique can help you achieve a dewy and healthy look, especially if you have dry or dehydrated skin.

Skin Flooding Protocol:

  1. Cleanse using a gentle cleanser

  2. Apply hyaluronic acid serum to damp skin

  3. Apply niacinamide serum over top

  4. Apply a hydrating moisturizer

  5. Apply SPF

Some TikTok influencers have been switching up this routine by dampening the skin with a hydrating skin mist. Others have been swapping the hyaluronic acid serum with a polyglutamic acid serum.3 The option to layer a hydrating mist in-between each step can also be used.

The layering is very important when it comes to skin flooding as well. The key is to start with products that have smaller molecular formula sizes, like hyaluronic acid, panthenol and polyglutamic acid, and then layering the thicker product over top of that (i.e. the moisturizer).
